Saturday,
October 13 - Phatwater
Kayak Challenge on the Mississippi River.
The Phatwater Kayak Challenge is the premier paddling
event on the Mighty Mississippi. It’s a grueling, 42.5
mile, paddle endurance race from the port at Grand Gulf, near
Port Gibson, Mississippi, to the Natchez Landing, at Natchez
Under-The-Hill. Depending on
the paddler, and the craft, the Phatwater will take anywhere
from 4 and a half to six and a half hours to complete. |

October
26 - 28: Florida
Paddlers' Rendezvous. Sponsored by our friends
the West Florida Canoe and Kayak Club and held at Adventures
Unlimited, on the pristine Coldwater Creek in the Florida Panhandle.
Experience firsthand the splendor
of the white sandbars of such natural gems as spring-fed Boiling
Creek and Turkey Creek; the tannin-stained waters of the Blackwater
River, Juniper Creek, the Yellow River and countless other
waterways. If you like paddling in pristine, wilderness areas,
sawgrass estuaries or white sand beaches or even all three
- this weekend is for you.
Don't forget to get your permit
for Eglin Air Force Base so you can paddle the creeks there!
