Florida Spring Fling Paddle: April 21 - 25

Dottie Hartman is leading this wonderful trip over Easter weekend. Paddle Econfina Creek, Holmes Creek, and Chipola River and play in the icy springs located along these waterways!

  Make your camping reservations NOW. Book through Falling Waters  State park or through Dottie. There are other campgrounds and hotels in the area.  Plan to meet each morning at Falling Waters Campground Site 17 at 8:00 am for daily trip update.
Cost:  The trip isree for BHPC members, $ 5.00 fee for nonmembers.
Expect to pay parking fees, camping costs, and for evening meals at restaurants.
Bring:  Your own boat, paddles, PFD, ACA number, camping gear, camera, breakfasts, river lunches, snacks, drinks, potluck treat, etc.   Bring a wetsuit, masks, fins, and snorkel for swimming in those icy springs!  Also, pack a flashlight to explore Chipola’s river accessible cave.

CANOEING FOR BEGINNERS: May 7

Canoeing for Beginners is an ACA Quickstart program. This event will be held at the new Milford Wampold Memorial Park, located at 901 Standford Ave. Baton Rouge, LA 70808. This is the same place where we have Demo Day and is also known as Baton Rouge Beach or LSU Lakes.

It will start a 8:30 AM and will end around 12 Noon. It maybe a good idea to bring a lunch because practice will be very important to improve your skills.

There will be an event fee of $10 per boat for BHPC members and a $50 fee of non-BHPC members. Fees will cover the cost of the event.
