BHPC Trip Information

List of some paddling areas around Southern Louisiana and Mississippi: (For a list of upcoming trips click here).

Canoeing and kayaking are potentially dangerous sports. Please do not paddle any waters without proper equipment, instruction, and knowledge of the waterway you plan to paddle. The list below provides general information or trip descriptions about some Bayou Haystackers' outings.

  1. Atchafalaya Basin - you can get lost here. The Basin is big and there are many different areas in which to paddle.   7. Horn Island - one of the Gulf Islands - via sea kayak
  8. Lac Des Allemands
  9. Lake Maurepas, Northern Shore by Sea Kayak - Manchac, LA
  10. Okatoma Creek - Seminary, MS
  11. Red Creek - near Wiggins, MS.
  12. Ruddock Canal - Manchac, LA
