Hidden Canal -- The put-in for this trip is at the mouth of the Tchefuncte River in Madisonville, LA. From this boat launch, paddle across the river and along the shore of Lake Ponchartrain until you see a small cut leading to a canal which parallels the lake. You can paddle in this old logging canal til your heart's content. Watch the weather though, since you have to paddle back in the lake.
